Massage
Therapy is the manipulation of soft tissue for therapeutic
purposes. Massage enhances the
function of joints and muscles. It
improves circulation and general body
tone. Massage
also relieves mental
and physical fatigue. Relaxation is
a secondary effect of massage. During
massage the body releases endorphins, the
body's own natural pain killers. This produces a relaxed muscle, and loosening
of the body's soft tissue, while calming the nerves.
